A transformative journey to your child’s well-being.

Arrow pointing right

“Enter into children’s play, and you will find the place where their minds, hearts, and souls meet.” (Virginia Axline)

Proven to work:  A wealth of research demonstrates that of Play Therapy is highly effective in addressing a wide range of children’s social, emotional, behavioural, and learning challenges, while enhancing their overall well-being. Recent studies in neuroscience support this evidence wholeheartedly.

Deeper understanding: All behaviour is communication. Mischa provides a judgmental-free space where all emotions are embraced,  allowing genuine underlying emotions to reveal insights into troubling issues. When your child understands better what they are feeling they are better able to communicate.

Language of play: Play Therapy utilises metaphor and non-verbal expression, empowering children to access their inner world. This has been shown to be a more effective way of communication when dealing with emotions. On average, the child talking takes up only 7% of the session time. Most of the ‘conversation’ takes place through use of various expressive mediums.

Child-centred: Your child takes the lead, at their own pace they select activities that resonate with them. We trust in a child’s intuitive wisdom, to find their own answers when they are given the time and space to process their experiences, thoughts and feelings.

Truly Holistic: In play therapy, the holistic approach means we look at the whole picture of your child's life and well-being. It's like putting together all the pieces of a puzzle. We don't just focus on one thing; we consider their feelings, thoughts, behaviour, and everything that's happening in their life.

Transformations: Sometimes, the most profound changes happen beneath the surface. Through play children access their inner world and often tend to process things unconsciously. Finding deeper understanding can be hugely empowering. As your child connects to their inner world their sense of self improves, their self esteem naturally growing stronger.

Ongoing Benefits: The healing process continues to unfold beyond our sessions, initiating lasting positive changes in your child's life.

Practical - where to start?

If you would like more information, or to discuss any concern you may have about your child, please get in touch!

We can confidentially discuss your child's specific challenges. During this discussion, we can assess whether Play Therapy is a suitable therapeutic option for your child and schedule an initial consultation to meet in person. This initial consultation is essentially to get more insight and is to be attended by both of the child’s parents / carers.

Following this initial consultation, we arrange the first session for your child. The therapy consists of twelve 45-minute sessions held weekly, with a parental review after the tenth session. At this point, we can decide if additional sessions are necessary to continue the progress or whether to finish up. My door will always be open for past clients to attend sessions in the future , when needed again.
